The 1st Learning, Teaching and Training Activity was held in Zagreb from March 7 to 11, 2022.
The main goal of this activity was the education and preparation of teaching teams to work with the selected digital tool and the creation and design of the curriculum for the new optional subject 3D World of Chemistry.
Partners visited the Faculty of Science, University of Zagreb, where they had the opportunity to learn more about the use of digital technologies in teaching and innovative teaching methods. Partners also discussed the methodology of creating the curriculum and accompanying materials. Partners made a curriculum development plan, plan of teaching units and assigned tasks with set deadlines. During the work, partners discussed the importance of visualization in chemistry classes, and the use of digital technologies and innovative teaching methods that can help students better understand the material. At the workshop, partners had the opportunity to work with the ChemSketch digital tool, learn the basics and create 3D models of molecules in order to better define the outcomes and goals of the curriculum. By working in the ChemSketch program, partners not only mastered the training of working in the program, but also tried which approaches and teaching methods are most suitable. The method and time frame for creating the curriculum and supporting materials were also agreed upon.
In addition to participating in lectures, workshops and meetings, partners had the opportunity to meet each other for the first time in person, but also to get to know the capital of Croatia and the Plitvice Lakes, and to visit the Nikola Tesla Technical Museum and the Chemistry collection.
